Like the fire in the skyÂ
reaching ever higher into the universe,
a curse filling the clouds with the sins of men who fuelÂ
its flames;
standing still at the window pane, its hue imbues my gaze...
what an unfamiliar pain.
Orange,
Like the fire seeping through my sternum
inflaming the emotions that reside in its crests
unable to escape through my chest into my throatÂ
as the bodies of the privileged evacuate the streets
...the rest of remain in its heat.
A ominous shade with rays unlike that of the sun,
our beautiful star shunned by its cloak as the day begunÂ
Orange,
oh how chilling you have become
